Registering for School

Are you new to Stafford County and have school-aged children or do you have a child ready for Kindergarten who will turn 5 by September 30th?† This is a reminder to register your children at your local schools before school starts on September 8th.† Our schools are open next week, Monday through Friday from 8 to 4, and are looking forward to welcoming your children.† For details on registering your children, go to http://tinyurl.com/pczguyb.† Itís very important to have the students registered as soon as possible so that we may prepare for them.† If you arenít sure which school your child will attend, go to our website at http://tinyurl.com/p3sybpk and enter your address.

STAFFORD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS SCHOOL BOARD ADVISORY COMMITTEES

The School Board and staff of Stafford County Public Schools extend our gratitude to the many community members who served on our advisory committees during the 2014-2015 school year. The dedication and commitment of these citizens help ensure Stafford County children receive a quality education. The advisory committees compile data, analyze problems, summarize findings and develop recommendations for the Stafford County School Board.

Are you interested in becoming an advisory committee member for 2015-2016? Any Stafford County citizen who wishes to serve on any School Board advisory committee for the 2015-2016 school year should submit an application by Monday, August 31, 2015, to Office of Public Information, SCPS, 31 Stafford Avenue, Stafford, VA 22554. The application form is available at the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex or access the link on our website below.

The School Board will appoint advisory committees in the following areas: Capital Improvements Planning, Career and Technical Education, †Fine and Performing Arts, Gifted, School Health, Special Education and Technology.

2015 COLLECT FOR KIDS ~ SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
Help us Collect School Supplies for Students in Need

As you are aware, not every student begins the school year with the school supplies they need to make the grade.† Together we can help make a greater difference in the lives of our students.† All school supplies collected will be distributed to students in need at the beginning of the school year.

Our business partners have been actively collecting school supplies and drop-off locations for this program include:† Apple Federal Credit Union, Chick-fil-A (Route 610 & Route 17), Celebrate Del Web, England Run Library, Five Below (Stafford Market Place), Hilldrup Moving and Storage, ISignFrame, Lupi Orthodontics, MVP Awards & Trophies, Porter Library, Rappahannock Orthodontics, Stafford County Government Center, Stafford County Safety Building, Stafford Hospital, Walmart (Stafford Lakes, Ferry Farm & Route 610), and University of Mary Washington.††

Stafford High School Items Go On Auction Block

2014-2015 SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT INVOLVEMENT SURVEY

All parents of school-aged children and youth who receive special education services in Virginiaís schools are encouraged to complete the Virginia Department of Educationís annual Parent Involvement Survey. This survey is not intended to measure satisfaction with the special education program. It is designed to determine whether or not the school facilitated parent involvement. The English and Spanish versions of the survey have been combined into one survey with both languages.
